Many aircraft accidents are related to human error. This is why Hinfact decided to focus on pilot behaviour analysis. The Toulouse-based start-up, founded in late 2018, offers training centres an innovative solution based on eye-tracking technology. Instructors can use it to spot procedural or piloting human errors in real time.

« We contextualise the pilot’s physiological states: visual path, fatigue, stress, attention, drowsiness, etc. in relation to the flight simulations », explains Thomas Bessière, the company’s CEO and co-founder.

Another competitive advantage is that Hinfact’s solution makes it possible to create training programmes tailored exactly to a pilot’s individual requirements, based on the difficulties identified, while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Hinfact’s market is therefore not limited to commercial aviation. « This Competency Training Management approach is also aimed at pilots of helicopters, fighter planes, drones, etc. », says Thomas Bessière.

The start-up is now looking to raise funds to accelerate its international development. Winner of the Bpifrance ‘Impact China’ programme, Hinfact has decided to set up in China, but also in North America. It plans to increase its workforce from 25 to almost 50 by 2023.

Supported by the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region, which granted it an Export Pass in 2020, Hinfact is also supported by AD’OCC and Bpifrance in terms of R&D (start-up programme) and its international development.
