VRrOOm, a start-up that is planning on moving up a gear. Founded in 2016 as Perpetual Emotion, the company is moving fast. Specialising in the creation, production and broadcasting of live shows in social virtual reality, it designs scenes that immerse the audience in limitless worlds, created in three dimensions and broadcast live, streamed and in real time.

This is why Jean-Michel Jarre chooses them. VRrOOm produced Alone Together, the first virtual online concert given by the musician live in front of more than 600,000 fans on 21 June 2020. The Béziers-based company repeated its collaboration with him for Welcome to the Other Side, the New Year’s Eve 2021 concert, given in the 3D simulation of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.

« Welcome to the Other Side broke the world record for the most streamed New Year’s Eve concert with 75 million views across all media »
, recalls Louis Cacciuttolo, its founder who was previously executive vice president of THX, one of George Lucas’ companies, from 2013 to 2016.

VRrOOm is the only French specialist in social XR (extended reality), a term that covers all new multi-player entertainment experiences in virtual reality or augmented reality, in real time and in replay. The company is therefore pioneering a new way of consuming cultural events. Its clients include the Venice Biennale and South by Southwest, one of the largest music festivals in the US.

Employing two people full time, VRrOOm wants to fast track its growth. Firstly by industrialising its tools and processes, in order to streamline its economic model and market its solution. Secondly by setting up its own social virtual reality platform, to become autonomous and position itself in relation to competing platforms, all based abroad.

The company hopes to raise €1.5 million for the first phase, which will create 6 to 7 jobs, and €10 million for the second phase, which will create around 20 jobs in Occitanie. This is the reason for its participation in Occitanie Invest.

« I have already benefited from an innovation grant from the Occitanie Region for the creation of a show in 2020 and now I am supported by AD’OCC for fundraising. And I have to say: their help is really valuable », concludes Louis Cacciuttolo.
